PEMBROKE PARK, FL - A woman was killed when her car crashed at a Pembroke Park shopping center Sunday morning, WPLG reports.
Witnesses said the woman was driving east on Hallandale Beach Boulevard when she lost control of her car and slammed into the plaza, located between 40th Avenue and 48th Avenue.
The driver was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Her name has not been released.
The accident damaged at least six vehicles that were parked at the shopping center. A storefront was also damaged.
The area was closed to traffic for much of the morning for the police investigation.
