FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - Two people are still recovering in the hospital after sustaining serious burns in a Fort Lauderdale boat fire last Thursday.
According to Local 10, an explosion occurred on the 41-foot boat at about 2 p.m. as it lay in the South Fork New River.
Police say 21 people were on the boat recording a music video at the time of the explosion. Of those 21 people, 13 sustained various degrees of burn injuries as a result of the explosion and ensuing fire.
More than 50 firefighters worked to put out the blaze and protect other boaters in the area.
Officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission are leading an investigation into the cause of the explosion.
