PLANTATION, FL - Authorities have released new details in the death of a man killed by a hit-and-run driver in Plantation over the weekend.

According to WPLG, the victim of the crash has been identified as 33-year-old David Robinson of Coral Springs.

He was fatally struck at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the vicinity of State Road 7 and NW 5th Street. Family members said Robinson was walking across the street to go to a convenience store when he was hit.

Police are now searching for the driver who left the scene following the crash. According to his family, Robinson was the lead singer in a band he formed with his brothers.
