MIAMI, FL - A school bus driver from Miami has been arrested for allegedly leaving the scene of a car crash, WPLG reported.
47-year-old Shawanna Latisha Aaron was arrested last Friday in connection with the incident on September 5. Police say Aaron was driving a Chevrolet Camaro in the area of U.S. 1 and Southwest 112 Avenue when she was involved in an accident with another vehicle.
According to police, Aaron left the scene on foot and left her 15-year-old son behind in the car. Authorities said Aaron, a driver for the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, was at fault in the car crash.
She has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash and child neglect. School officials say she has been placed on alternate assignment as a result of the arrest.
