LAUDERHILL, FL - Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol reported at least one injury resulting from an accident on Florida's Turnpike in Lauderhill Monday morning.
According to NBC Miami, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Florida's Turnpike near the Commercial Boulevard exit.
Police believe the unidentified driver lost control of their McLaren sports car and crashed into the right shoulder, causing the vehicle to burst into flames. The driver sustained minor injuries in the wreck.
The crash caused traffic to build up along the Turnpike for several hours.
No word on what may have caused the crash has been released at this time.
