MIAMI GARDENS, FL - One person was killed and another sent to the hospital following a wrong-way crash on the Palmetto Expressway Sunday morning.
According to WSVN, the incident occurred in the eastbound lanes of the expressway near the exit to Northwest 37th Avenue at about 3 a.m.
Police say the driver of a black Nissan was traveling west in the eastbound lanes when he collided head-on with a BMW. The driver responsible for the crash was pronounced dead at the scene.
The BMW's driver was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
