WEST PALM BEACH, FL - Police in West Palm Beach were searching for a suspect after a security officer was reported to have been hit by a vehicle Tuesday night, according to WPTV.

Police responded to an apartment complex at at 5865 Caribbean Boulevard at about 10:30 p.m.  Investigators determined that an armed security officer employed at the complex was talking with a man in a vehicle when the driver took off and struck the officer.

The officer fired at the vehicle during the incident but no one was hit. The victim sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, and was taken to an area hospital.

Investigators spoke with witnesses and searched for evidence at the scene.
