HOLLYWOOD, FL - Authorities were on the scene of a fatal accident involving an SUV on Florida's Turnpike Tuesday morning.
According to the Sun-Sentinel, the crash happened near Hollywood Boulevard at about 6:10 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said the SUV hit a concrete barrier, killing the driver. He has been identified only as a 32-year-old Miami resident.
A passenger in the vehicle, a 19-year-old woman from Oakland Park, was not hurt.
The wreck caused traffic delays that stretched for about five miles back to Griffin Road. It took about four hours for the scene to be cleared.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
