HILLSBORO BEACH, FL - A bicyclist was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Hillsboro Beach early Sunday morning, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
The victim, a 63-year-old man, was hit by a Mazda in the 1100 block of Hillsboro Mile and was knocked onto the road at about 4:50 a.m. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Broward Health Medical Center. His name has not yet been released.
The suspected driver was located and stopped by Broward sheriff's deputies. The person was identified as 38-year-old Shannon Young of Deerfield Beach. Authorities said Young is cooperating with investigators and as of Monday afternoon no charges had been filed.
