BOCA RATON, FL - Authorities said an elderly man was killed when his car collided with another vehicle in Palm Beach County, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Investigators determined that 88-year-old Melvin Meisel was driving a Cadillac CTS south on Powerline Road west of Boca Raton when the accident occurred Tuesday evening at about 7 p.m. As Meisel was turning onto Canary Palm Drive, he entered the path of a Ford Mustang that struck the passenger side of his Cadillac.
Meisel was taken to Delray Medical Center, where he died of his injuries Wednesday night. The driver of the Mustang, 66-year-old Andre Kellogg, sustained minor injuries.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said Kellogg was wearing a seat belt but that Meisel was not.
