NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL - Officials say a woman died after being struck in North Lauderdale by a hit-and-run driver, reports WSVN.
The Broward County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident, which took place in the area of State Road 7 and McNab Road at about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday night.
Investigators said an older woman had just gotten off a bus and was walking across the road when she was hit by a car which then left the scene. She was struck again by a second vehicle, but the sheriff's office said that the driver stayed, tried to help, and cooperated with investigators.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been identified as Rose Clark, 66.
The vehicle sought in the incident is a white 2018 Kia Optima. Investigators recovered a passenger-side wing mirror from the vehicle.
Anyone with information on the incident was asked to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers.
