LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL - Authorities say a woman was killed when the motorcycle she was riding collided with a car in Palm Beach County.

According to WPTV, 59-year-old Karen Rivers was a passenger on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 53-year-old James Kelly Saturday night.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said Kelly was going north on Dixie Highway near 5th Avenue North in Lake Worth Beach when the incident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m.

Investigators said the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu on Dixie Highway was making a left turn and did not see the motorcycle approaching.

The motorcycle crashed into the car, and Kelly and Rivers were both ejected. Rivers was pronounced dead at the scene, while Kelly was hospitalized with serious injuries.
