Police arrest woman in deadly Pompano Beach hit-and-run

POMPANO BEACH, FL – Police say they have made an arrest in the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian in Pompano Beach, according to WPLG.

32-year-old Jacquelyn St. John of Lauderhill is facing charges in connection with the incident, which took place Sept. 21 on North Dixie Highway shortly before 9:15 p.m.

Authorities said St. John was behind the wheel of a Lincoln MKZ when she struck 24-year-old Kenyanna Bell. St. John then allegedly drove into a nearby parking lot and, after first exiting her car, got back in and drove away.  Bell died at an area hospital two days later.

The charges against St. John include failing to stop/remain on the scene of a fatal accident, tampering with or fabricating evidence, and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
