FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - A motorcycle rider was critically injured in a crash that tied up traffic in Fort Lauderdale Sunday evening.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, the motorcycle collided with a car in the area of Interstate 95 and Broward Boulevard at about 4:50 p.m.

The rider was listed in critical condition at Broward Health Medical Center. The driver of the car was extricated from the vehicle and sustained minor injuries. A passenger in the car was not hurt.

The incident shut down eastbound lanes of Broward Boulevard for at least an hour, slowing traffic in the area on the busy final day of the Thanksgiving weekend.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
